28/1/2005 - Meeting with the wild horses of mount Ainos
In one of our last tours in the national part of mountain Ainos, we met the famous wild horses of the mountain. It is very rare to see them as they are very shy and usually disappear quickly when they sense human presence. Although we are very happy having taken some rare pictures of these wild animals, due to the poor lighting conditions and the lack of collaboration of the horses to play the role of the models (they were moving all the time), the quality of these photos is not the best one. 14/1/2005 - Celestial Navigation and Astronomy night. A new service is now offered in our multi day sea kayaking tours!
In our multi day tours, a celestial navigation and astronomy night is organized! We gather under the stars and relax discussing about how astronomy and navigation have gone hand in hand over the centuries, permitting man to discover new places and conquer the planet! We are telling stories about how different civilizations in different time periods used the stars and other natural means to find their way.
Moreover, we are telling stories about the constellations and the mythology attached. Whenever there is a power boat support and a clear sky we can do a sky observation with our telescope.
And if anyone want we can cover from basic up to deeper Celestial Navigation theory explain how the special tools (sextant, quadrant, octant, astrolabe, nocturnal, etc) work and many more...

Celestial Navigation and Astronomy are by nature, disciplines very close to a sea kayaker's psychosunthesis and way of living. We are passioned talking about that and we are sure you will love it!!...
(Pavlos is a founding member of the Astronomy Club of Thessaloniki, one of the more active Astronomy Clubs in Greece)

12/11/2004 - Weekly trip with BCU instructors (Kevin Mansell and Chris Jones) and an American sea kayak guide (Jenni Lanzer)
The last week of October together with Kevin Mansell and Chris Jones, the BCU instructors and Jersey Sea Kayak Club members (…and founder (Kevin) and president (Chris) and www.seapaddler.co.uk site owners!!) and Jenni Lanzer a young lady with a considerable amount of experience leading sea kayaking trips in Alaska and Lake Superior we made an one week tour in the Ionian sea.
Although we were in the end of the season the weather was with us (apart from two stormy nights). With temperatures ranging between 25-30 degrees Celcius on a daily basis, we really enjoyed paddling for 7 days in very calm conditions with hot, sunny weather and warm waters.
As we were far from the peak season, we had the opportunity to enjoy the perfect mix of wilderness and sheltered picturesque small yachting ports and fishing villages, ideal for a cold beer and a light lunch (a good dose of lamp chops and plenty of starters are a typical greek "light lunch", something that Chris didn't face big difficulty to get used to!!!...
see photo).
It was a really nice week with very good company, story telling, experiences exchanging (Jenni, Kevin and Chris have paddled to some of my favourite places like Alaska, Greenland, Svalbard, North Norvegian fjords, Lake Superior etc), so, it was a great opportunity for me to absorbe pictures from their narrations (although most of those pictures have a bear in the corner!!...).
We met dolphins twice
(see photo), we had time to learn and practice rescue techniques, do some exciting cliff jumping
(see photos), overnight in some excellent camping spots
(see photos), Jenni had her first roll
(see photos) and the last day after saluting Jenni (she had to leave in order to catch up her ...beer lessons in Munich) we paddled the south west part of Kefalonia, a new territory even for me, as I didn't have the opportunity to paddle it before. The scenery, turned to be a pleasant surprise and as we had following wind and waves, we enjoyed some nice surfing, as well. Next day, Chris and Kevin left renewing our meeting either in Jersey or again in the Ionian sea for exploring more places (..and more lampchops!!..)
18/8/2004 - Sea kayak excursion to the famous ship wreck beach of Zakynthos
The ship wreck beach in Zakynthos is a scenic highlight not only
for the island but for entire Greece, as it is one of the most popular postcard themes of the
country.
Situated on the rough west coast of Zakynthos is not very easy to be approached with a sea
kayak, especially on windy conditions.
We organised a non commercial 2-day excursion on
the west coast of the island and we were really compensated from its beauty…

12/6/2004 - New commercial tour in the south west part of Zakynthos
A new tour is added in our list of tours. It is in the southwestern part of Zakynthos.
In the next days a detailed description will be added in our "kayak" page. For the time being
please contact us for more details.

5/6/2004 - New impressive photos from the blue caves in Zakynthos
Zakynthos is a natural playground for a sea kayaker. Full of caves along its coastline offers unlimited potential
for unique pictures. Of course, due to the difficult lighting conditions in the cave in combination
with the fact that you cannot have big diaphragm exposure sitting in your sea kayak makes the whole
procedure very chalenging and a very goog exercise for every photographer.

20/8/2003 - Encounter with dolphins!!
Last week Antonis Voulgarakis and myself, during a
kayak trip from Avythos to Koroni (southern Kefalonia),we encounter a
quite big (10-15) group of dolphins.
It was really amazing seeing them playing and jumping around.
Although we didn't manage to approach more than about 100 meters, I must admit that
being in a sea kayak gives you a
beautiful sense of proximity. It was fantastic, we were both excited
